Founded in 1971 by Major K H Crofton, Letchworth Roofing has developed from a small family firm into a nationally-recognised roofing contractor and merchant, with a group turnover in excess of £11 million and a dedicated workforce of over 150 employees.

On 2nd March 1987, Letchworth Roofing moved to purpose-built premises in Works Road, Letchworth. This 10,500 sq ft specially-designed office and warehouse complex was built on a one-acre site and the unique hi-tech building won a Design Council award. Intended as a focal point for the roofing industry, it has hosted major roofing seminars and presentations to architects, specifiers and building owners.

Our Merchanting Division has been developed under the direction of David Curtis, former co-founder of Erith Building Supplies. This division now has a retail shop and a specialist reclaim yard.

The business today retains a family culture. Our continuing success is due to customer satisfaction, referrals and repeat business, loyalty from customers and staff, hard work, integrity and professionalism.
