Founded in 1971 by Major K H Crofton, Letchworth Roofing has developed from a small family firm into a nationally recognised roofing contractor and merchant, with a group turnover in excess of £11 million and a dedicated workforce of over 150 employees.

On 2nd March 1987, Letchworth Roofing moved to purpose-built premises in Works Road, Letchworth. This 10,500 sq ft specially designed office and warehouse complex was built on a one acre site and the unique hi-tech building won a Design Council award. Intended as a focal point for the roofing industry, it has hosted major roofing seminars and presentations to architects, specifiers and building owners.

Letchworth Roofing is one of the few companies in the UK offering all roofing disciplines using in-house expertise ... from major re-roofing projects, to minor day-to-day roof repairs. Whether for sheeting, cladding, flat roofs or slating and tiling, Letchworth Roofing are the acknowledged experts - a complete building envelope provider.

In addition to the contracting arm, Letchworth Roofing has a very active Merchanting Division, which has been expanded under the direction of David Curtis, former co-founder of Erith Building Supplies. This division now has a retail shop and a specialist reclaim yard.

The business today retains a family culture. Our continuing success is due to customer satisfaction, referrals, repeat business, loyalty from customers and staff, hard work, integrity and professionalism.
